Yesterday, I took some time to listen to a few tracks off Devendra Banhart's new album "What We Will Be." I've loved him since I was in high school, when I stumbled upon him on the internet somehow. His music is folky, but bizarre -- very earthy in a way. His albums sometimes sound like clashes of various cultures, with tracks that sound like they were influenced by different parts of the world. But sometimes, well, it gets too weird, even for me. It's like Animal Collective -- unless you are in the right mood, it just hurts your ears. But from what I've heard of the new album, this is not the case for "What We Will Be." Here's a video of him performing "Baby", a song I'm totally in love with right now! His voice is so distinct, and the song itself is so sweet!
